Learning to Get Along

Feb 10, 2019    Shawn Brewer    1 Corinthians 6:1-8

As we continue to work through our witness to a lost world, we are going to look at how all of the word buildings concept upon concept.
Two weeks ago, as we began this series, Jesus's words instruct us to make sure that we are being salt and light. Salt's main purpose in Jesus' day was to prevent decay. We are to be engaged in decay prevention. Light's main purpose is to chase away the darkness. When you and I are being light, we can't help but stand out in the face of the dark things that come in life.
Building off of these two central concepts, the only way that I will and can make a difference in my world is to first have the word of God making a difference in me. As a full heir in Christ, I can have the mind of Christ. For the gospel to impact on the way I live, I have to think about things as Jesus does, have the right motive as Jesus did, and seek to follow through in a way that honors Jesus.
This morning, we will look at how we get along within the family. The continuing issue for this church was their witness to the world. I should be different. My walking, talking, living and interacting should be different.
How I view my walk will determine how I view my world. Getting a Biblical worldview and realizing I am a witness is a must. Let's engage it together today as we seek to be agents of change.
