Begin Well

When I think about all of the things that come in a New Year, this Sunday is one of my favorite opportunities for ministry. I am so looking forward to our worship together this morning.
Each year, as we have the opportunity to pray, I am reminded of what so many in our fellowship have gone through during the past year. I think of the prayers that were prayed and the service that has been rendered. I stop and think of those who have come to faith in Christ that we have been able to celebrate their baptisms and I also think of some who have said "see you later" to loved ones throughout the year.
Our family has changed and yet, it remains the same. Some new faces, some well-worn faces, new friends and old friends, all seeking to figure out how this faith life looks, works and provides as we do LIFE together.
It is and has been my prayer this week, that today be a blessing and an opportunity for us as a body of believers. I look forward to all that this next year holds, both the good and the difficult. I know that in all things, our God works together to bring about His good, pleasing and perfect will.
Use this morning to set your course. Use this morning to seek a deeper commitment to who Jesus Christ is in your life. Use this morning to pray for someone else as you watch them bring their family before the Lord.
